Rooted In Shadeland

As announced in the Spring 2025 Diocesan Assembly Meeting, for the Diocese of Eastern America of the SOC , the current endowment no longer has the funds to maintain ongoing operations of the St Sava Shadeland Camp property in Springboro, PA, without new investments. This means that the 2025 Summer Camp Season could be the last camp season to be held at Shadeland!

Shadeland Camp holds a special place in many of our hearts, our memories, and has even helped shape our future lives in our home church parishes, our families created, and continues to do so for many folks today!

With the support and blessing of His Grace our Father and Bishop Irinej of Washington-New York and Eastern America, Rooted In Shadeland is a newly formed group of Eastern Diocese parishioners and long-time supporters of the St. Sava Camp Shadeland. We are coming together to raise awareness of current status and continued progress of the physical camp property operations; hoping to and working towards establishing the financial security needed for short term operation costs and long-term financial planning for success; and ensure transparency and accountability for our endeavor to keep this property available for generations to come!
